The simplest way to spiritual peace and, indeed, enlightenment: ignore all thought.
New book release: Spiritual Dialogues with Akilesh
My new book, Spiritual Dialogues with Akilesh; records a great variety of conversations with seekers on topics on or related to nonduality, including issues of the practice of self-inquiry and surrender, questions regarding my own state, theoretical questions, and much more.
Does the illusion of ego and world exist -- even as illusion?
What is the real status of illusion (maya) in the framework of enlightenment and self-realization? Is it true that the world and the ego appear to be, but are in fact nothing but the Self? Or is that a simplification for seekers?
The mind can never grasp Self-Realization
What precisely is Self-Realization? It is called many things to help seekers, but what it REALLY is can never be understood.
No, Don't Integrate -- Transcend! : My presentation at Science and Nonduality 2019
The Science and Nonduality Conference that took place a few weeks ago in San Jose was delightful. Tons of interesting conversations. I also had the pleasure of presenting a poster on nonduality. It’s a little manifesto arguing against viewing the spiritual as something that can or should be integrated with the material.
The doors to the train are locked -- so chill
Let me assure you, the doors to the train are locked. You are going precisely where you are going and nowhere else, governed by a combination of desire and circumstances — or, if you prefer, God’s will.
You’re on a track, and that track cannot be deviated from. It can only, as one of its stops, give you the illusion of being able to change its direction. Can’t happen. Doesn’t happen. What will be, will be. What was had to happen the way it did.
Does that mean we don’t try? It means that the trying itself is part of a process that plays out with iron certainty. The drama of figuring things out is all part of the script.
So sit back, and, as Ramana Maharshi says, put your baggage down.
Relax and enjoy the view. Not even that.
Just relax.
Not even that.
Is Self-Realization more clarity or faith?
I’ve compared realization to clarity, but it got me to thinking about the pros and cons of this description. In many ways, faith is a better term.. but why?
Surrender is not acceptance
A lot of people think the meditative process of surrender means to accept life as it is — to say “everything is ok just as it is.” This is a misunderstanding.
